Keen is going to make a great trail shoe and soon. But this one ain’t it. High socks are required to keep the collar from rubbing, which is manageable. What isn’t is the thick, sock-like upper, which makes for a VERY warm ride. I barely sweat and my feet have been uncomfortably warm each time I’ve worn these (in early spring, cool temps). The worst park, however, and I’ve got a super narrow foot, is how cramped my toes are in this toe box. It’s not wide enough, but I could handle that if not for how shallow it is. The upper rubs on the tops of my feet and has given me blisters on the tops of my second toes. A wider, more spacious toe box, and a revamped upper that allows feet to breathe will do wonders for this shoe, which is comfortable, stable, offers a fun foam that’s absorbant but also offers some pop, and is light enough to keep you moving at a good clip. I’ve got my fingers crossed. You can do this, Keen!
