I justrecently learned about Keen Trailrunning shoes from a friend and decided to Give them a try. I like to do longer runs and did some ultratrails up to 76k 4200m+ Yesterday I did my first 10k run on a hard surface to slightly Muddy trail. The Shoes felt very comfortable and I could have run much further if I had the time. For comparison they feel a slight bit harder than my Hoka Speedgoat but similar in comfort. I really like the Upper that's very flexible and closes snugly below your ankle. This will work great to keep sand and mud out of the shoe. I also like the small details like the loop on the heel is fixed by velcro so you can open it and hang the shoes somewhere that way. I will keep testing them on different terrain but so far they are some of the best trail shoes I have ever tried.
So terribly disappointed.I don't like the "scree collar" at the ankle, but it IS advertised as a heavy-duty trail shoe (But --- the collar is not mentioned.). Meh. I wanted something that I could wear with or without socks, but it appears that a sans-socks mode is the only way I'd feel comfortable, as my feet get get overheated very quickly, no matter what the shoe.
Pretty great trail shoe, esp. for a first version. Toe box is wide but not too wide. Cushion and grip are both great. The sock liner does what it's supposed to, although it does make it a bit of a tight fit getting it on and off. Love that it has attachment points for a gaiter, unlike most that seem to have ditched those. Overall very pleased.
Bought these not all that long ago. Shoes are good for hiking trails if distance is not too long ( 15 miles ) downhill they get your toenails a bit. Tie them up high and you should be good. All around good hiking shoes. Flexible and good for high intensity workouts aswell
Great shoe in terms of comfort and trail running. I find them to have really poor traction on wet rocks/roots. I get that this stuff is always slippery but these soles, compared to competitors, really come up short.
Good show unfortunately not for me. I could not get a good heal and mid foot lock down. I wish it fit because it seemed like it would have been a great shoe.
Fit is great. Comfortable on long runs. Big drawback: really slippery in wet conditions. Almost tweaked a knee. Keen suppressed my last review.
