Great shoes for the gym!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really impressed with the fit and feel of the Nike Metcon 7 Men's Training Shoes. They felt stable and supportive during workouts while still being comfortable enough for longer wear. The fit felt secure without being too stiff. I liked the overall design. It has a clean, athletic look and feel durable. The material felt breathable yet sturdy, especially for training and lifting sessions. What I liked most was the balance of comfort and stability during workouts. If I could change one thing, I would make them feel just a little more flexible right out of the box because it took a few times wearing them to loosen up a little. Overall, a great training shoe!

Sturdy, Versatile Training Shoe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very versatile shoe that I have worn to cross-train, lift, jog short distances, and even run daily errands. The shoe provides plenty of flexibility and bounce in my HIIT sessions, while the outsole has enough grip to get me through various types of power movements at the gym. Overall, I would say the shoe is lightweight with a good amount of cushioning, but one thing I have found annoying about this shoe is that it squeaks with each step that I take. It could be the upper materials used or the way the lacing is designed. For sizing, I did go with my true to size and the fit was just right. If you want a sturdy training shoe that you can depend on to meet your lifting goals, the 7's are it!

Sleek & Supportive

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Nike Free Metcon 7s are awesome. They look incredibly sleek without compromising on comfort or support. I have a wider foot and use these for both gym workouts and walking. While they can start to feel a little tight after longer wear, they are overall very comfortable. I usually need wide widths in other brands, so I was really excited that these Nikes still worked well for me while looking great. The breathable design, cushioning, and heel support all feel high quality. My only request would be a slightly wider toe box, or a wide-width option in the future. Overall, I love them!

Stability and comfort, a rock solid platform.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been more than impressed with this pair of shoes, and have actually had a problem saving them for the gym. With the wide platform of the midsole paired with the cinching wrap of the upper, these make for a great stable platform. For weightlifting, or for standing all day on my feet in a hospital setting, these have shown me that a purposefully built shoe can beat out a generic running shoe any day. I love the fit, and they fit true to size, with a comfortable upper and firm base. The materials all feel top quality, and my black-on-black ones make for a simple and understated aesthetic. I would highly recommend a pair of these.

Disappointed

I'm a big fan of the Free Metcons, so I was excited for this release. But I'm honestly let down. This is just my opinion, of course, but after wearing it for several workouts, for me the shoe is stiff, bulky, and doesn't feel or act like a Free Metcon. The 7's seem vastly less flexible and versatile as the Free Metcon 6's. Nike went away from the bootie construction and the tongue on the 7's is bulky and becomes uncomfortable if it shifts during a workout. Nike also added bands that extend from the laces to the soles and when doing lunges, or other moves that require a bent, flexible foot, these bands will pinch the foot. Sorry, Nike, this one's a miss for me.

Firm Stability, But Lacking Comfort for My Training Needs

I was recommended the Nike Free Metcon 7 Men’s Training Shoes for gym training, and while I can see why they appeal to many athletes, they unfortunately weren’t the right fit for my needs. I found the sole quite firm and unforgiving, particularly when it came to comfort, mobility and overall support during training sessions. As someone who values stability and ease of movement in the gym, I eventually opted for the Nike Pegasus Premium instead, which offered a far more cushioned and versatile experience for my training needs. The Free Metcon 7 has a strong, durable design, but for me personally, it lacked the comfort and responsiveness I was looking for, hence the three-star rating.

Good everything shoe!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I got these in the mail I was skeptical, but they really work for a lot of activities. I am a janitor and a coach so I move around a lot. Typically my legs get sore at the end of the day, but these shoes proved different. They felt good when I was wearing them during my coaching and janitor duties. When working out in them they felt great, good stability and traction. I played some basketball in them, not the best traction but I didn’t roll my ankles. I ran with the team I coached in these shoes and they preformed well. No issues with support or traction during my training sessions. Also as a janitor while mopping floors the tread was very good because on wet surfaces I still have decent traction, although I am still careful about walking on wet surfaces. The fabric drys out quick, I have spilled water on them multiple times from mopping and they stay relatively dry and stink free. Definitely a great shoe for multi purpose users.

Performance-Focused Shoe but Lacks Premium Feel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Nike Free Metcon 7 delivers excellent gym performance wrapped in a really sharp, modern design. The fit is incredibly secure, especially thanks to a lacing system that gives you a perfect locked-down feel during high-intensity HIIT exercises. Underfoot, it hits the ideal sweet spot for weightlifting—offering great stability at the heel and fantastic support through the forefoot, all while providing plenty of comfort without being unnecessarily cushiony. What I like most is how stable and balanced I feel during heavy lifts. However, if I could change one thing, it would be the upper material. The fabric feels a bit cheap in hand, and I wish Nike had used more premium textiles to give the shoe the luxurious look and feel that its great design and performance deserve. Overall, this shoe has benefited me in my workouts from weightlifting to endurance exercises and has given me an advantage to the comfort level and confidence I feel when being excited to get my workouts in.

Size up!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I generally wear a size 10 for Nike (10.5 for most Jordans) and I'd start by saying that these run a bit narrow AND short. I can feel my pinky toes being gently tucked inward and there's a little less room in front of my toes in the toebox than I'd like. This is my first pair of metcons so I can't compare them to previous generations. There are no active hotspots from a comfort standpoint, which is a relief since the heel pull tab does come slightly higher than the heel, but it's short enough that it never actually touches your achilles. I like that most of the upper is a soft mesh (it's thick though so breathability isn't as amazing as your favorite runners) except for the high abrasion zones which are bonded (probably why I feel a bit cramped). The mesh is extremely soft and plush though so even tightening the laces causes no discomfort across the top of my foot. The midsole is very firm and flat, which is great for lifting without being so hard that I haven't been able to do some treadmill work. Overall, I still wish the toebox was a bit wider, but I do have slightly wide feet so YMMV.

Nice Upgrade

As comfortable as the 6s with a new modern look. Love them for gym and going outside.
