Great, sizing seems larger than a few years ago

I love these, they were a splurge as I am desperate for new shoes and the only ones that seem to fit comfortably are Scarpa from a few years ago, which I've completely worn out now (2 different kinds!). In those, I was 40.5 (I'm 8.5 in US sizing), and 40 in those old shoes was too small. I ordered the 40.5 again and they correlate to at least a 9. I even tried thick socks. They are narrow-medium width which is great for me. Update--I wore them for an approx. 4 mile walk on a variable gravel/dirt path and they were comfortable, no blisters, good tread, and my feet molded a bit more to them and seemed to move forward in the shoe, which is great. I'll keep them. The Scarpa box does say on the side that 40.5 is 8 2/3 US. They'll be great for hot weather when feet swell too :)
