My FAVORITE hat !!! Great for kayaking
This is my favorite hat for kayaking. I have a beautiful purple one (picture attached) that I bought years ago at REI. This year I've purchased the light pink (cherry blossom) and the green one. This hat is my go-to hat to grab (along with another hat from another UPF50 brand) for kayaking and hiking and outdoor walks. A few years back, my beautiful purple Oasis hat blew off in a heavy breeze -- even with the chin strap securely fastened! The wind came up from behind, and the hat blew off, into a creek... My friend acted quickly, finding a long stick, and fished it out of the water before the hat disappeared forever!! Yay! So, I guess it does float? I would have been so bummed if I had lost this hat: It is my FAVORITE!! So since that close call with my purple one, I figured I ought to have more of these on hand, so I've purchased more in the available colors. Friends have borrowed mine when we go kayaking. I love the style of this hat. It is AWESOME!! Nice design.
Not a fan of the redesign
I had the original version of this Outdoor Research hat, and then lost it. I ordered the new version but I don't care for it. OR has made the chin strap removable, which means there are two plastic attachment points inside the hat, and they hit the my ears in just the right place to be annoying and uncomfortable. This hat will have to be returned. I wish manufacturers would leave good designs alone - the original version of the hat was perfect.
good coverage from the sun
I love the periwinkle color. I do not love the logo being on the front. I would prefer a hidden logo.
