Loving it!
Just bought this and was very pleased with the quality while I was installing it onto my bike. I can already tell its safe and secure. I even accidentally dropped my phone in the case while trying to figure out what angle I wanted and it completely protected my phone. Rode over some bumps just to see how it would handle and so far so good. Looking forward to getting it out on the trails.
Great concept, but usability issues.
Purchased less than ninety-days ago. The concept is good, and I trust the Topeak name. There are good design details, but the problems have me looking elsewhere. I was looking for a bike mount case for navigation while riding. Found the Topeak case and thought it perfect for an out of town trip. Did not know the city and needed navigation. Worked great; while it lasted. Have logged over one-thousand-miles with this case in a short period of time. Plus daily use off the bike. I think that counts as a through and complete test of the product. Pro: Easy to insert and remove phone from case. Mounting system works great, if a bit difficult to get tight. Water proof. Con: Fingerprint difficult to read. Touchscreen problems. No mute switch access. Poor sound quality for calls and speakerphone. Rubber power stopper broke quickly. This version did not come with the ‘kickstand.’ Does NOT include the wrench to install the mount (very disappointing) Conclusion: I would look elsewhere. This is not a long-term solution for me. Perhaps if you leave the case installed on the bike, and remove the phone while not riding. But not useful for an all-purpose every-day case.
It does its job
I love the case overall but it does have some flaws. Like in one of the reviews there is no way of accessing the silent switch with the case on. Also when in phone calls the person you are in a call with can not hear you, in order for them to hear you you have to open the rubber protecting the head jack. Another is cables, it bummed me out to find out have of my charging and head cables didn’t fit with the case the only ones that fit with the case is the original apple charging and head phones cables fit with the case. Just some tips but over all the case does it’s job.
Great design but will not fit Iphone 8
I’m so excited when I bought this, determined if it will fit the Iphone 8. Ran out or the Ridecase model so I gave this a try. And so it will not fit due to the contour mold for the rear camera which is below offset from the case with obviously larger diameter. Packaging is excellent and case itself is well made to stand normal bumps but not sure at high hard falls because of the bottom hinge and single slide lock system at the top. Did not continue to mount it to the bike stem because there was no point and need to return this at the store immediately.
Nice phone holder but.,,
Solid construction, mounts best on the bike neck(recommend) seemed kinda flimsy when mounted to handlebars.. touchscreen cover didn't perform well. Plastic cover needs to be upgraded to glass. I had allot of trouble using my iPhone while in the case. Almost always had to remove phone to use it. Even getting it out of the case was a little tricky!
absolutely perfect
I bought this to hep me with everyday commuting as well as navigation help. It locks solid onto the stem and holds position perfectly. Topeak has yet to disappoint me. You need your own tools to mount this but it’s a piece of cake. Protected my phone perfect in a rain ride. I pair this to a Topeak power pack for longer rides and it rocks!!!! I also ride with a Bluetooth speaker on long solo rides and it’s also great. Great product!
Great sorta
Every thing about this is great With one exception No one can hear what your saying while talking on the phone. Great for other functions while riding and case goes on and off super easy.
