[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 3rd TNF Thermo Eco Hoodie. I have literally put these thru the ringer as a Wilderness Guide I work 2 weeks on 2 weeks off in the backcountry, year round. Over my 3 years in the field I can tell you this jacket has been a staple in my layering. While I wouldn't wear it in the rain I have endured many rain storms without putting a shell on. Most notably this hoodie has GINORMOUS pockets, I have carried 15-20lbs of gas station snacks in the pockets that alone is why I bought my 2nd and 3rd. The downfall was always the same, a years worth of dirt and weather + multi-daily usage the zipper finally and rightfully so got destroyed. If the zipper never got destroyed I would still be in my 1st hoodie. The synthetic insulation was a easy choice given the nature of my job, I didn't have to worry about losing feathers thru punctures and the ability to dry it out after experiencing weather. Great jacket, I highly recommend!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased for spouse Christmas 2021. This winter he wore it and I noticed the letters in the back lifting. 2 are off and they are lifting in the front. Cost too much for it to be that flimsy.
Wore the jacket for three days and somehow a crease made while being packaged weakened the fabric and ripped. Terrible quality.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this jacket it's not too bulky and keeps me warm. Also it goes just right with my other designer clothes .
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ran into an issue where the product i purchased was missing and customer care was kind enough to get me a refund. I did make a new purchase from in store and wanted to share my feedback. Pros: Jacket runs pretty lightweight and is easy to put on and off Keeps you warm when layered under 40-45F Cons: Runs really small and pretty tight near the undearms The zip is too flimsy and hard to pull at times The pocket zips are also too cheap and gets stuck majority of the times The threading keeps coming off after 1,2 weeks of use and withering off. Overall: A bit dissatisfied with the quality and fit. Would've expected a bit extra from NorthFace being a prestigious brand.
I had second thoughts at first about the jacket because I was concerend about the slightly snug fit. I'm about 185lbs and 6 ft tall with the medium size being snug but not uncomfortable at all. I just wondered about wearing layers witht he jacket. The arm length is perfect for me and the large size would be too long in the arms. I almost throught to return it to other options but realized this size is really perfect as is after wearing it on a few outings. I don't really need additional mid-layers with this jacket so it has been great and won't be looking elsewhere for another jacket. I had the previous iteration of the Thermoball (I guess 1.0?) and this one seems to be warmer as well.
Excellent purchase I must say! I read many of the reviews and agree with some that said to size up. I normally wear a medium to a large jacket and the large fits me perfectly, with a little room for layering with a sweater. I am 6 feet 175 pounds and normally purchase a medium for a slim fit. But the large fits between a medium and large and that’s perfect for me! The fit is great, the insulation is fantastic, the inside left chest pocket is large enough for any phone. And the ability to cinch the elastic cord at the bottom is lovely. I just love how light, soft and comfortable this jacket feels so I just ordered the non-hooded version also. My BFF Ken would love this jacket also if he needed one. this is my new favorite jacket, I highly recommend!
I’m always a bit hesitant to grab anything that isn’t a down-based insulation from past experiences, especially when in this price range.. but with that said, this jacket has provided me with the upmost amount of comfort and warmth, and has absolutely been worth the money. I’d even go as far as to compare it to my 600 down TNF jacket. It’s stylish, comfortable, and as stated, very warm. I’m able to throw this thing on to go on walks at night in the rain, and it keeps me dry and warm with the only issue being the thin pockets not keeping my hands too warm, but that’s mostly my fault anyways. If you’re looking for a slim, warm, and casual jacket to wear, this is far worth the price for it.
I bought this to go camping and hiking and recently I used this jacket in 30-40 degrees F and it was great but i used a outer shell because the outer material felt a little weak and i was worried if it might get ripped by a branch and another issue was the zipper its a little stiff to get out and feels like it can snap any momment but i take care of my jackets well so I dont mind I live how slim it is as i am a slim person. Overall this is a great warm jacket with decent water risistant properties just make sure to watch out your sorrundings or use a outer layer to make sure it dosnt tear
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this jacket for a trip from NYC to Florida this winter, since I needed a light jacket at the airport that could easily fold up compactly for travel, and I am super satisfied with this. It is modern, stylish, and very lightweight! The jacket even stuffs into the chest pocket since it officially functions as a stowe pocket, which is fantastic. The hood has come in handy as well, so I'm glad I bought the ThermoBall option that had the hood as part of the design. I know this jacket will last me the next decade and it's already my go-to for travel, as I intended. Highly recommend.
