KUHL  Alpina Sweater - Women's

Although I prefer sweaters with a higher wool content (this one is 25% - it is mostly an acrylic sweater), I have to give high marks for this soft, comfortable, well-designed garment. I was also a little unsure how I'd like the neck, but it is surprisingly very flattering on me. In fact, I liked this so much that I considered buying it in the other two colors offered, but I wasn't sold on them. The blue-gray is the standout color scheme, to my eye - very attractive.

This sweater had a pleasing colorway and design and the good reviews swayed me to order it. It's been returned. It's no different from endless spongey fast fashion acrylic sweaters from any mall shop with a bit of wool to seem...outdoorsy? Quality? No. Technical synthetic fabrics have their place in athletic and outdoor gear. But this is just a cheap, soft mall sweater that won't last. It's not the quality I would expect at this price from REI.

I ordered this sweater in the red rock color. As a red-head it is hard to find colors that work well on me. I was very please with the color, quality and fit. The red rock is a pretty copper color. I am going to order another in white.

The description says it’s merino wool but it’s only 25% wool and the rest is plastic synthetics made of petroleum. These fibers shed toxic micro plastics that get into our water. And acrylic yarn just feels icky.

Neither boxy and shapeless nor unflatteringly form fitting, this sweater fits well and has a good length. It is lusciously soft and can be worn without an under shirt without scratching. I also like the raglan sleeves for my athletic shoulders and the long enough sleeves. I wear a 12-14 in tops and the large fit perfectly.

This sweater is the perfect blend of cozy, soft, cute, and well made. The collar is just the right height to keep out drafts, and the cut of the sweater is flattering. I got the Mineral color -- gorgeous. I love everything about this sweater! Maybe I'll get the red :) too. I ordered my normal size of Medium, which was fine but a little roomy (not huge, though). I exchanged it for a Small and it's perfect. 5'1" 130 lbs for reference.

This sweater caught my eye because of the non-typical placements of the Nordic design lower across the shoulders as well as on the sleeves. The sweater is very warm and the XS fits me perfectly at 5’5”, 120 lbs. I have a number of other Kuhl items in my closet and have come trust the quality of the brand’s clothing. I chose the Red Rock color and have received many compliments when wearing it.

Received this sweater as a gift and I can’t say enough about it. First off it’s thick, soft and warm. I brought it on a trip to the UK in December and there were times when I didn’t need a heavy coat over it. Two favorite things I like about it, the sleeves are long enough to go beyond my wrists and the mock turtle neck keeps out the wind. True to size. Hoping to get another color soon!!

Very pretty. I ordered a medium for Christmas (because Kuhl usually runs small) for my daughter-in-law and she is smaller than me. I tried it on and it fit me so I was a little worried that it would be too big for her but it fit fine. I am 5'5" and 140 lbs. and I fit in the medium.

I purchased this sweater for my wife as a Christmas gift. It's soft, and looks great. She loved it, and looks terrific in it. I hope Kuhl keeps this line going so I can purchase another for next year.
