The men's version is so much better! I bought the Rho (men's version) earlier this year and loved them. When I found the women's version at REI, I was happy to have a second pair. I was disappointed to find that the zippered pocket is slightly smaller than on the men's version making it very hard to get a phone in/out of the pocket. It really has be crammed in sideways for it to fit. Also, I didn't notice it right away, but these pants are not gusseted, unlike the men's version. The gussets make a much nicer fit! While these pants are still cozy, I would opt for the men's version instead. I'm 5'11' and about 160lbs.
I don't know if it just got a defective product, but I bought these leggings and the matching top and within less than six months of very light use, the fabric has holes everywhere (both the top and these bottoms). Not holes at the seams.... no, just random holes in the fabric, and not even in high wear spots. I've never had a baselayer do this before. It was comfortable while it lasted, but overall extremely poor quality.
The fit and styling is much improved from my last pair of RHO leggings and was excited to find that I could replace them with these. However the fabric seems thinner and not as warm as some other polartec tights I have which are soft and cosy for my dog walks in frigid weather. I feel that these are really a base layer or to be worn in milder weather. I like the tatsu color but would prefer a darker olive and since I am on taller side, another 1/2" in length would help to tuck inside socks/boots. Since I have already worn them, I plan on keeping them but am still on the hunt for some soft warm leggings!
Great base layer for snow sports. I’ve been wearing 2 pairs of base layer pants for skiing to accomplish the warmth I needed. Just tried these today - they’re awesome! A little like pulling on a wetsuit with regard to a snug fit but once on they’re very comfortable, fleece lined, warm but not bulky at all. I highly recommend these base layer pants from Arcteryx.
The Polartec® Power Stretch® Pro base layer is warm, flexible, and impressively versatile for cold conditions. It delivers excellent insulation while staying breathable during high-output activities and long days at work. I love wearing it at work because I’m always cold, and it keeps me consistently warm. It doesn’t itch and has none of the chemical smell I sometimes notice with Patagonia's fleece. The four-way stretch and soft brushed interior make it extremely comfortable. Overall, it’s a reliable, durable choice for anyone needing a high-performance winter base layer. I got 5 of them! <3
The comfiest thermal leggings! I would keep them on all winter if I could. They are my go to for winter hiking / snowshoeing in cold conditions. Super stretchy and perfect fit. The side pocket is a nice feature & keeps my phone warm!
I usually need to wear two layers of pant and doubt if this single layer is enough, I was wrong. Very soft and comfortable, also very warm and breathable. Highly recommend!
I bought a pair of these baselayer bottoms in the Stratus colour in my usual size (medium) and am obsessed! They are sooo comfortable and soft, and have a nice stretchy waistband that is quite high so they'll stay up. I've worn them under my uninsulated ski pants and they keep me warm on resort days up WhistlerBlackcomb. I'm super happy with these and are my favourite piece of ski gear I've purchased this season. If you want a more compressed fit, size down... I could probably get away with a size small and I don't say that often.
They are very warm and comfortable. They fit true to size. The quality of the fabric is good and they are easy to move around in.
These bottoms are super soft and comfortable, and are my go-to base layer for cold weather low output activities like easy hikes, mellow resort days, or just wearing around the city. I like the side pocket for my phone if i’m wearing them as my only layer, or my keys if they are under a shell.
