Broke almost immediately

One of the hooks that attached the bag to my rear rack snapped off its rivets after two days of use. I checked to ensure I was not loading more than 15 pounds, the bag's limit. There is no way to use off-the-shelf fasteners to reattach the hook, so the bag is essentially broken. I also did not like that the width between the hooks was a fixed position and could not be adjusted. Furthermore, the metal hooks in conjunction with the lower security hook did not feel stable at all, especially on a bumpy road.

So far so good!

Really liking this bag so far! I’ve mostly used it for work and it comfortably fits my laptop, lunch box, and change of clothes. Also recently took it on its first grocery run and it was great for that too! Only complaint is it can be a little tricky to get on and off the bike, and I saw another review about the hook breaking so I’ve tried to be very careful with it.

My go-to pannier

I thought that this pannier would be useful for specific errands, but quickly learned that it's so much better than I ever expected. After running errands with this pannier for one weekend, its now my new favorite pannier. I was delighted that I could keep the tabs velcroed closed and still drop in small items, open the bottom tabs for medium sized loads, and open the bag fully for large grocery runs. The bottom hook makes a great stabilizer on my rack (Salsa Wanderlust HD) and is exactly the perfect length (your rack may have different measurements). It is four inches taller than my regular panniers and those extra inches saved me on my last grocery run. I love the front pocket for other items. A terrific pannier that has quickly become my new go-to errand bag.

So durable and versatile! - we need more.

We just moved to a great location with a nearby grocery store. Everyone in the family (12,14, and 2 parents) is able to pop over to the store to get groceries. The two Orchards are basically in constant rotation. I generally take the bags inside with me and hook them on the sides of my cart. That way, I don't over-buy. The volume of this bag is fantastic and yet it folds flat on the bike when empty. We packed it flat to go out to eat because I know that take-out boxes are inevitable with my family. I was right.... my next-day lunch was secured with the help of this simple pannier. I love the hook on the top. For less than full loads, I pull the hook through the loop and secure the bag to my rack. It gives me a nice sense of security. When I ever have heel strike - I push the bag back on my rack a bit - it solves the problem for me. I noticed that the stiff board at the bottom can come out - I like that I can pull it out for cleaning and if I ever need a thicker board down there, I can just add it. nice detail! I did not have the same problem with the stabilizer hook as the other review. Maybe the problem was fixed? My hook stretches the 12.5" no problem.

Must-have for grocery shopping trips!

I’ve been using Po Campo’s Bergen Pannier for years but wanted something a little bigger that I could use for a grocery shop or just for hauling a bunch of stuff. The Orchard is perfect! I was impressed by how much it could hold, and like the hook on top to keep the bag from flopping out. I generally don’t use the pull down hook because the weight of the bag keeps it in place, but it works with my bike (Gazelle Medeo T9).

nice bag that does not fit

super quality bag that does not fit my new bike or my old one, my daughters or my husbands. From top of rack to attach point on all bikes is approx 12.5". This bag can only reach 9.5" from rack hook to very short elastic band that hook is on. These look great but useless.

Stylin' for Grocery Shopping

This a great bag for grocery getting, but as observed by others, the anchor strap (bungee) is short. It reaches on a Topeak Explorer rack on a 700c bike, but it won't reach the bottom of a Blackburn Ultimate Commuter rack.

Fantastic Grocery Bag/Pannier

I absolutely love this bag. It's sturdily built, with a solid, fold-down bottom, fairly thick sides, and a nice outer shell. It holds a lot of groceries and is a great shape. The handles are really nice as well. I just take the pannier in with me when I shop and use it as a shopping basket, so I don't have to worry about buying too much to fit. Securing it to my bike rack is pretty easy. The upper hooks seem solid and can just be hung right on. The bottom hook offers quite a bit of flexibility on where you can attach it, which still providing a good amount of security. The way it can fold up and velcro up when empty is nice too. My only critique really is that the strap at the top of the bag that's supposed to keep it somewhat contained when full is way too long, and doesn't actually help at all. Nothing is at risk of falling out, but the bag extends out from the bike more than it should. Overall I just wish I got this bag sooner. If you use your bike for shopping, this bag is a must-have.
