Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Great Affordable GoreTex Bib!
This is a nice affordable GoreTex bib. The fabric has a stretch to it that doesn’t restrict movement without needing to be baggy. The elastic straps are wide and comfortable, even when pulled tight. It’s also easy to pull off the elastic straps and unzip the side zipper to use the bathroom. The bib also has a good number of pockets, though it would be nice if the big pockets were also zipped and didn’t just close with velcro.
S Petite fits great for 5’4!
So I can’t speak to performance right now, only fit but hope this is helpful! I bought small regular and small petite and stuck with the petite sizing. I’m 5’4, 130lbs and 34/28/38.5 measurements. Small petite was a much better fit for my height (had to pull the the small regular suspenders super tight and they were still long & roomy) and they are more flattering than the regulars without restricting my movement. These are my first bibs and first ski pants with no insulation; excited to try them out.
Snowboarders beware - these won't last past a year
I really liked these snowpants when I first bought them January of last year. They fit well with a good amount of stretch, kept snow out, and were waterproof. However, I've now worn them on a handful of snowboarding trips and am very disappointed in the amount of wear they already have. The knees and butt are worn and are a noticeably lighter color. They no longer keep out the water and are worn beyond what I would say is normal "wear". I went into REI to see if this was a faulty item and I could get a replacement. Instead, I was told that it's normal wear and there isn't anything they can do - I was instructed to buy a waterproofer to fix them myself. It seems REI is no longer standing behind their own brand quality. I've had other (cheaper) snowpants last far longer than a year I am extremely disappointed that I spent $250 on these when I could have spent the same with a different brand whose quality would actually be able to withstand snowsports, as advertised.
Loved this bib until...
I loved this bib for a few months. I loved the shape, the buttfap, and the comfort. My first complaint is a very minor inconvenience. The buttons on the side come undone pretty easily when going from seated to standing. The real reason for my negative review is the fabric/waterproofing. I purchased this bib when I was first learning how to snowboard, so I was on my butt and knees a lot. Eventually the weatherproofing layer wore off in those areas, meaning my butt and knees would end up damp from just sitting or kneeling in the snow. I only wore this bib for one season, and it started happening about 2/3 of the way through. Maybe it's better suited for skiers since they rarely need to sit in snow.
Love!
These snow bib pants kept me dry and provided wind protection. Purchased for working outdoors in wet/snowy weather. Love the high waist! no snow slipping in at the waist. For ref I’m a size 16 and bought the xl. Fit comfortably over sweatshirt and sweatpants. May run slightly large. Large was snug over sweats. See photos.
Makes me hungry to get back on the slopes
Well what everyone wants to know is can you use the bathroom in overalls...these have great long side zips that make it very convenient so there is no stress at all on this issue! The overalls have three good pockets, one would fit a phone easily on the left hand rib side, and then there is one with a zipper and one with just velcro on each upper thigh that are big enough to fit snacks and other items. I'm used to REI brand items fitting pretty large but these actually fit quite well, for reference I'm 5'7 130lbs and wearing a Small. The bibs hit right below the bustline and the legs are wide enough for comfortable movement. They feel like the perfect amount of insulation for a typical PNW inbounds ski day (you know...windy rain...and then some sun...). I have to trust the waterproof claims as I haven't taken these out in precip yet but the side zips should dump a lot of heat when the sun is out. I think they would be too hot for uphill travel but am excited to put them to good use this winter when the weather is at its worst.
Nice pants, Ugly color, Way too long for shorties
These pants are stretchy, comfy, and seem very high quality for the price. I was disappointed at the length. Many of the reviews made it seem like these would work for someone who is 5'4". At further inspection, it seems REI is combining the reviews for the petite sizes with the regular sizes, which is so confusing and misleading. The cork color is also more puke greenish in real life than the light tan shown in the photos. It would be tough to match with jackets. I re-ordered the petite size (in black) once I finally was able to find those on the website and they are a much better fit! It would be nice if REI would link to the petite version of items on their site so it is easier to find!
Thrilled with these pants
I am 5'1'' and ~145lbs with a smallish waist, bigger butt, and athletic thighs. I have had lots of trouble finding snowpants in the past. They are either too long, too loose in the waist, too tight in the butt / thighs, or the zippers fall in uncomfortable places (notably when the zip vents are in the thighs - they'd rub against each other). I am so happy I finally I found pants that fit. I purchased a medium and there is a little space in the waist but they are pretty perfect. The construction feels very high quality, the pocket placements are great, and I love the drop seat and front zip. I was worried reading a few of the reviews on the non-petite version that the side buttons might pop open under stress but I don't think that will be an issue for me. The fit is flattering (even more-so with a jacket on) and length is just right. I might buy another pair in case these ever go out of production!!
So Far So Good
I just tried these on, fresh out the package. So, I can't review how these bibs do while skiing, but the initial fit is great! I ordered a size small, and they fit perfectly. I have a pair of thick long johns underneath and I still have a little wiggle room. All the zippers and buttons are intact and function well. Excited to ski in these!!
I'm keeping these!
As an average size woman with muscular thighs/butt, you wouldn't think it would be so difficult to find good fitting snow bibs... BUT IT IS SO HARD! I have yet to wear these in the wild, but I have worn them around my house on multiple occasions - over undies and over jeans, not over a proper base layer yet. I am 5'4", generally a size 8/29 in pants, my thighs and butt take me up mountains on the daily and it shows. I didn't trust the size guide from my experience of trying to fit into mediums and ordered a large. A medium might have fit, but would be tight over a base layer. A large passes the squat test while wearing them over jeans. The length is good. Getting in and out of them is good. The butt flap is good. The pockets are good. Overall, very happy to have finally found functional bibs that fit well.
