REI’s Private Brands Announces Fall 2013 Collection

Synthetic insulation, baselayer and day packs are key focuses for the season

Jan 23, 2013

Starting today, REI’s new lineup of exclusive gear and apparel for fall 2013 will be on display at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market tradeshow in Salt Lake City. The fall collection adds new baselayer, synthetic insulation, day packs and urban-wear for fall and winter, and will be available to members and customers starting in August. An online media kit with complete specs is available at: www.rei.com/fallmedia.

Outerwear

REI’s Salix jacket and pants for men are designed for rain, snow and other nasty weather conditions. Salix incorporates the best of both worlds as an insulated layer of PrimaLoft® ECO gives Salix its down-like warmth and a waterproof breathable shell adds a layer of protection from the elements.

For those who like the option of converting their attire based on activity, the new Nevis for women and Spruce Run for men may be a perfect fit. Both styles include zip-off hood and arms for a variety of activities. Also made with PrimaLoft® ECO insulation, these jackets are highly compressible and compatible as they can be layered under a shell, stuffed in its own pocket, or worn as a vest from the trailhead to the summit.

Urban Apparel

REI’s new Rimrock collection extends the look and feel of outdoor favorites into cross-over clothing for around town. Men and women can enjoy the comfort and style of Rimrock, while not having to sacrifice technical performance and winter-worthy warmth. This new fall collection includes henleys, lined pants, fleece sweaters and jackets.

Baselayers

REI’s new baselayer apparel for men and women is designed to help transport sweat off the skin, prevent chills and maintain core body warmth. REI’s collection offers a selection of lightweight, midweight and heavyweight baselayer bottoms and tops for men and women. Men can also stay warm by jumping into an all-in-one Allstar Suit designed with access openings “when nature calls.”

Packs

For those needing a comfortable, sturdy day pack, REI’s new Trail 25, Traverse 30 and Lookout 40-liter day packs are designed to carry loads quickly and easily. The panel-loading designs feature durable waterproof bottom panels and comfortable shoulder straps.

REI’s bringing retro back. The company’s designers give a nod to REI’s rich heritage with the release of the new Flashback pack. Built with heavy-duty nylon, brass hardware and leather, this pack can go anywhere in style.

For business commuters, students and road warriors looking for sturdy, comfortable, well-designed transit packs, REI’s new Quantum collection offers an assortment from packs to briefs, to bags or slings all designed to protect electronics and organize workday accessories.
