REI Co-op welcomes Mike Cannata as new vice president of human resources

Specialty outdoor retailer REI Co-op today announced Mike Cannata has joined the organization as vice president of human resources. This newly created role will lead the strategy and execution of initiatives focused on the employee experience of the co-op's hourly team members and their leaders.
“Mike brings deep retail expertise across business operations and human resources,” said Apple Musni, chief people officer, REI Co-op. “He’ll play a critical role at the co-op, focusing on strengthening and modernizing how we attract, grow and engage our teams to help fulfill our co-op’s mission and purpose.”
Cannata was most recently vice president of human resources at Under Armour, leading end-to-end human resources teams that support the company’s commercial businesses globally. Prior to joining Under Armour, he spent over a decade at Target, progressing from a store team leader through human resources leadership.
In his new role, Cannata will oversee human resources and talent acquisition across the co-op's stores, distribution centers and experiences division.
