REI Co-op to hold grand opening celebration in Marina del Rey on September 8-10
Three-day celebration filled with outdoor and community partners, music and giveaways

REI Co-op opens its new Marina del Rey store on Friday, September 8 and invites the community to a three-day celebration filled with outdoor brands, nonprofit partners, an afternoon social and more.
Located at Boardwalk MDR at the corner of Mindanao and Admiralty Way, the 23.500 square-foot store features a wide assortment of outdoor gear and apparel for camping, hiking, cycling, running, fitness, paddling, and more. A specialty bike and ski shop will be staffed with certified mechanics to tune or repair equipment to help cyclists be ready to ride streets and trails year-round.
“We look forward to serving everyone in Marina del Rey and those who visit this incredible community,” said Jason Ball, REI Marina del Rey store manager. “Collectively our team has decades of experience playing outside and we are ready to share our love of nature and adventure.”
REI’s doors will open at 10 a.m. during the celebration. Giveaways will be available each day while supplies last. Community members who join the morning festivities will enjoy free Verve coffee and receive an exclusive camp mug with a donation to local non-profit.
An outdoor social will be hosted every afternoon from 1 to 5 p.m. with music, non-profits and outdoor brands. Local non-profits will include Black Girls Run! LA, Friends of Ballona Wetlands, Girlz Gone Riding, Latino Outdoors LA, and Surfrider LA. Outdoor brands will include Adidas, Altra, Alpine Start, Arc'teryx, Black Diamond, Cotopaxi, ENO Hammocks, Goodr, Gregory Mtn Products, Keen Footwear, Kuat, KUJU, Mountain House, National Forest Foundation, Nikwax, Nuun Hydration, Oboz Footwear, Osprey, Saucony, Smartwool and Quantum Energy Squares.

A Laguna Hills store will open on September 15, approximately 56 miles away.
