Glassdoor Names REI One of the Top 50 Best Places to Work
REI employee opinions lead to ranking as highest-rated retailer

REI, the nation’s leading outdoor gear and apparel retailer, has been recognized as a 2013 Best Place to Work through the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award. Most notably, REI is the highest rated retailer for the second straight year.
The Employees’ Choice Awards are determined by employee feedback in Glassdoor’s anonymous online survey, now in its fifth year. Employees rate their overall workplace satisfaction and on key factors such as career opportunities, compensation and benefits, work/life balance, senior management, and culture and values.

Close to half a million company reviews were submitted by employees to Glassdoor during the past 12 months to help put their employers in the running for the awards. The list is compiled using Glassdoor’s proprietary algorithm, and the overall ranking determined according to each company’s overall Glassdoor rating. The overall rating is the cumulative average rating from US-based employees who elected to participate in the survey between November 23, 2011 and November 13, 2012.
