Class and event cancellation

To obtain a full refund, you must cancel your reservation at least 7 days before your event.

Please email your registration and contact information to experiences@rei.com at least 7 days before your event to request a new date. We will do our best to accommodate moving to a future date of the same program if space is available. We can’t accommodate requests made fewer than 7 days before the event and cannot issue credit toward future events.
In the event of last-minute changes due to unexpected injury or illness, a pre-purchased travel insurance enrollment is needed to be eligible for reimbursement of the non-refundable trip cost.

REI will only cancel an event if we have concerns about customer safety and/or satisfaction. If extreme weather, hazardous air quality, or other factors make the day’s activities more dangerous, we may cancel the event. In these rare cases, we’ll notify you as soon as possible and you will always receive a full refund.

We believe it’s possible to have fun outside in most conditions, so please note that cool temps or rainy weather will not result in an automatic cancellation of your event.

We recommend arriving at least 15 min prior to your scheduled start time for check-in and orientation. Late arrivals may be considered as absent for which refunds or transfers are not available.
