Prepare for the unexpected in this hands-on introduction to wilderness medicine, taught by our partners at NOLS. If you work in a wilderness setting, or enjoy outdoor activities and recreation opportunities, this 16-hour course is for you! Instruction will take place in classrooms and outdoor settings regardless of weather. Course completion results in a two-year Wilderness First Aid certification.
- Understand and apply the Patient Assessment System
- Provide effective first aid treatments for common injuries and illnesses
- Learn to make appropriate evacuation decisions.

Walking From Forest Hills T Station (1.5 miles, 30 mins): Be sure to exit the station onto the Hyde Park Avenue side. Cross Hyde Park Avenue, and then turn right. Turn left at Walk Hill Street. Proceed up Walk Hill Street past Forest Hills Cemetery. Cross American Legion Highway and follow Walk Hill Street south. Turn left at the Boston Nature Center sign. Go straight at the intersection and continue until you see our parking lot and large yellow building.
