This course is designed for those who want to learn more about kayak touring. Students will engage in experiential learning about proper kayak and gear selection and practice the essential paddle strokes needed to control your kayak on longer trips and on larger bodies of water. Lastly, you'll have the opportunity to work through the key elements of planning a trip including setting bearings, reading tide charts, and recognizing the impacts of various weather systems. These skills will become the foundation of your kayaking career and will enable you to begin exploring new venues safely and responsibly.
