Is your child eager to ride a bike but struggling to get started? REI’s Kids Learn to Ride a Bike course has helped thousands of children gain confidence and master the essentials of biking. Led by our experienced and kid-friendly guides, this two-hour session combines personalized attention with fun group activities to teach key skills like balance, starting, stopping, and steering around obstacles. For many kids, one session is all it takes—but we welcome students to return as often as they’d like! To ensure your child’s success and safety, please bring a helmet and properly fitted bike (seated child has feet flat on the ground) with pedals and training wheels removed before class (or arrive 20 minutes early for assistance). This course is designed for kids ages 5–12, and an accompanying adult must remain onsite throughout the session. Our classes fill up fast, but don't worry! We release new course dates at the start of each month—typically about 2-3 months out. Check back often to secure your spot.
