A River Runs Through Us--with Robin Center & Moira Magneson

A River Runs Through Us--a talk by the creators of A River Called Home. With over fifty-five years of river experience between them, Coloma artist Robin Center and Placerville poet Moira Magneson have worked as river guides and river activists, boating 28 rivers across four continents. For four decades, Robin and her husband Bill Center operated Camp Lotus and ARTA River Trips, fighting dam proposals on the South and North Forks of the American River all along the way. In addition to her work as a river guide, Moira has been employed as a truck driver, editor, writer for television, and community college instructor; her collection of poems In the Eye of the Elephant will be published by Sixteen Rivers Press in April 2025. After the talk and discussion, we will do a Nature Walk behind REI at Dry Creek. All Minors need to be accompanied by an adult.
