Perfect for women who want to explore Bryce Canyon National Park and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, two of Utah's most iconic parks, this trip combines otherworldly canyon scenery with the creature comforts of our REI Signature Camp. Each day varies in scenery and physical intensity. We walk in wonder amongst Bryce's famous hoodoos, the towering sandstone spires forming a landscape like something from another planet. We clamber through slot canyons. We hike Fairyland and the Navajo Loop. We come across an oasis with a silky waterfall more than a hundred feet high and swim in the pool at its base. Along the way, our expert female guides teach us about the geology, plants and wildlife of the desert.

Our deluxe camp nourishes us with fresh, healthy meals, plus indulgent touches like coffee delivered to your tent each morning, an al fresco yoga session and a special backcountry cooking how-to for those with interest. Day 1

Travel to Bryce Canyon; enjoy fantastic views during our warm-up hike

Our trip begins early this morning in Las Vegas (Henderson), Nevada at our host hotel. Our guides conduct a brief orientation before we set out on the five-hour drive to Bryce Canyon National Park. This chain of natural amphitheaters, formed by erosion, is brimming with thousands of brightly colored spires or "hoodoos" striped in red, orange and white, some standing more than 200 ' tall. After enjoying a bountiful picnic spread, we hike the gently rolling Rim Trail to take in views of Bryce Amphitheater as it spreads out below us. Next we descend into the depths of this natural wonder on the Fairyland Trail and walk among the famed skyscraper hoodoos. At hike's end, a short drive takes us to magical Bryce Canyon Signature Camp where dinner and our first night of camping perfection awaits. All meals included from lunch on Day 1 to lunch on Day 3.

Hiking: 6 miles; Elevation gain 977'/loss: 1,855'. After walking along the rim, our hike gradually descends 1100', averaging about 320' loss per mile.

Day 2

Hike to Calf Creek Falls and enjoy an afternoon yoga session

The smell of pinion pine and juniper mingled with fresh coffee and steaming hot breakfast begins a new day. Within an hour drive from our camp, Lower Calf Creek Falls is one of the gems of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, a lesser-known but equally spectacular wilderness area in southern Utah. We hike three miles along a river, passing Fremont pictographs and granaries as we explore deeper into the canyon. Enjoy a relaxing lunch and swim at the base of the cascading 126' waterfall. After refueling and refreshing, we hike back through canyon country to the trailhead. A relaxing yoga session at camp ends the day on a delightful note. Tonight, we enjoy a final evening in our Signature Camp, complete with a farewell dinner and celebration.

Hiking: up to 6 miles; Elevation gain/loss: up to 866'

Day 3

Hike the Navajo Loop and Wall Street slot before returning to Las Vegas

After another incredible breakfast, we'll pack our lunches and set out (via van transfer) into the Park to the Sunset Trailhead to explore the famous Navajo Loop. We'll be able to experience the dramatic narrow slot through Wall Street, a classic and awe-inspiring hike that is not to be missed. To get up and out of the canyon we'll stroll the garden path, well, the Queens Garden path, with its bizarre and colorful formations. After one last walk along the rim we'll say our goodbyes to the hoodoos of Bryce Canyon and find a perfect spot for lunch before we begin our five-hour drive to Las Vegas, arriving between approximately 5pm and 6pm, local time. Please do not schedule a departing flight prior to 8pm.

Hiking: 2.9 miles Wall Street/Queens Garden; Elevation gain/loss: 800'
