What do you love about this recipe?

I really love this recipe because it's so easy to make. And if you don't eat it all, you can bag it for a snack later. Ghee can last a month without refrigeration, so I love taking it on camping trips. I made it when I was on a road trip last summer in Montana.

Healthy-ish Popcorn

Ingredients

  • Corn kernels
  • Ghee butter
  • Turmeric
  • Cumin
  • Cayenne
  • Salt

Instructions

Step 1

Grab a medium-sized pot with a lid and put it over whatever heat source you have. Add at least a few tablespoons of ghee and one corn kernel into the pot. Cover with lid.

Step 2

Once the single kernel pops, add more kernels. They should cover the bottom of the pot. Replace the lid. Make sure you shake the pot a few times so nothing burns.

Step 3

Once the kernels have all popped, take the pot off the heat and dump your popcorn into a bowl. Add about 1/2 a tablespoon of turmeric, 1/2 a tablespoon of cumin and a pinch of cayenne. Sprinkle with salt to taste. Mix with your hands or a utensil. You can add more ghee if you like a lot of butter. Just melt it and pour it on top, then mix.
