Spend 6 days in Michigan's Upper Peninsula- kayaking and hiking in Isle Royale National Park- the largest island in Lake Superior, the world's largest freshwater lake.

Explore Michigan's Upper Peninsula and the rugged and remote archipelago of Isle Royale National Park. There are over 400 islands in the park and we will be on the largest, Isle Royale, at 50 miles long and 9 miles wide in the middle of Lake Superior. We ferry over to the island, as it is only accessible by boat or seaplane, and head out in our kayaks to view the rocky shoreline and lighthouses from the water. Hikes through the aromatic pine forests will provide great views of the islands and surrounding lake with potential wildlife sightings. Isle Royale is home to moose, gray wolves, otter, red foxes, and dozens of species of birds including Sandhill Cranes and loons.

We reach our lakeside campsite each day by kayak and enjoy a guide-prepared hot cooked meal. At day's end we share our stories under a starlit sky and perhaps the iconic sound of a wolf howling.

Enjoy an amber sunset paddle.
