We voted to protect life outside in Washington
On November 5, 2024 Washington voters chose to protect billions of dollars in funding for community and climate priorities across all 39 counties of Washington State—from programs that lower costs for families and improve safety for workers, to transportation and transit service improvements, to salmon recovery and wildfire prevention projects and more. These funding cuts were turned down with the defeat of Washington's Ballot Initiative 2117.
REI is proud to join a massive coalition of over 450 businesses, firefighters, labor unions, Tribal nations, community organizations, conservation organizations, outdoor recreation companies and more to oppose I-2117.
Evergreen State voters decided the future of key climate and community investments when they cast their ballots—and that future supports the outdoors.
Thank you for your support for the future of life outside in Washington.
