E-bikes are increasingly popular for people looking to commute to work, run errands, or enjoy the outdoors without a car. But people of all income levels should be able to access and enjoy this form of low-carbon transport.

The state legislature is currently considering Senate Bill S314, a statewide e-bike incentive program that offers a 50% instant rebate, covering up to $1,100, on e-bike or e-scooter purchases. Cycle advocates and enthusiasts across the state are excited because this bill would position New York State as a leader in expanding electrical bicycle access for all. You can help make it happen.

Senate Bill S314 is sponsored by Senator Julia Salazar to encourage the use of e-bikes in New York. The bill would create a Ride Clean Rebate Program that extends the states Drive Clean Rebate Program for electric vehicles to include e-bikes and e-scooters. The establishment of the Ride Clean Rebate Program, which would offer an instant rebate of 50% of an e-bike's price (or up to $1,100), does not require additional funding.
