Biking in Atlanta just got better.
E-bikes are increasingly popular for people looking to commute to work, run errands, or enjoy the outdoors without needing a car. But more people of all income levels should be able to access and enjoy this form of low-carbon transport.
In June 2024, the City Council passed resolution 22-R-480, an incentive program to reduce the cost of purchasing an e-bike in Atlanta. The resolution creates a $1 million pilot program for e-bike rebates that can create big savings for customers. Passage distinguishes Atlanta as a national leader in expanding electric bicycle access and opportunities for all at the city level.
