Prepare for the unexpected in this hands-on introduction to wilderness medicine, taught by our partners at NOLS. If you work in a wilderness setting, or enjoy outdoor activities and recreation opportunities, this 16-hour course is for you! Instruction will take place in classrooms and outdoor settings regardless of weather. Course completion results in a two-year Wilderness First Aid certification.
- Understand and apply the Patient Assessment System
- Provide effective first aid treatments for common injuries and illnesses
- Learn to make appropriate evacuation decisions.

The Wilderness First Aid course consists of two 8-hour days. Check-in is between 7:30 am and 7:45 am on the first day. On the second day, please plan on arriving by 7:45 AM. Course days run from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with an hour-long break for lunch mid-day. Participants are required to bring a cloth or surgical mask for use before and after class (NOLS will provide KN95 masks for use during class).
