Lisa Michelle is a former rodeo cowgirl who swapped spurs for hiking boots when she moved to the Sierra Nevada over three decades ago. Her passion for snowboarding, fly fishing and raging snowstorms has fueled an addiction to altitude. For Lisa, long-distance solo hikes are vital. They nourish her creativity along with dark chocolate and true crime podcasts. When not exploring remote places or working on her next novel, Lisa splits her time between her family and eight dogs. She has been an REI member since 2012.
