Great poles for SUMMER use

These are great poles for 3-season hiking. These are terrible poles for winter hiking. This site should NOT be recommending them for snowshoeing. They do not work well at all in cold weather. After we discovered that they cannot reliably be tightened when it's cold, we tried tightening them at home and then carrying them full-length to the trailhead. Then they wouldn't stay tightened. They collapsed, and couldn't be re-tightened at an appropriate height, but only at the longest setting, if at all.

Exactly what I wanted

I used these while hiking in Hawaii after knee surgery. They felt very stable and supported my weight very well (~190 lbs). Height adjustment is easy but secure. Grips are comfortable. I prefer not having the anti-shock.
